Can I bring someone to a job interview?

Description
Imagine you’re applying for a logistics position and the recruiter asks you to talk about your weaknesses. You’re about to answer, but then your mom intervenes: “Being on time is really not her thing!” Oops, we’d prefer to avoid this kind of situation!
The main goal of a job interview is for you to answer the recruiter’s questions yourself. It’s your future job on the line, so it’s important that the conversation goes smoothly without interruptions. Therefore, it’s best to attend the interview alone.
However, there are a few exceptions where you can be accompanied:
- If you’re not fluent in the recruiter’s language, you can bring an interpreter.
- If you have a hearing impairment, a sign language interpreter can be present to facilitate communication.
- If you have a visual impairment, you can bring your guide dog.
- In some cases, bringing a coach or career advisor can also be helpful. These professionals often know how to highlight your skills and help you present yourself in the best light.
If you’re unsure, it’s always best to ask the recruiter or the temp consultant if it’s possible to bring someone with you.
